Three New Poems Up and The Gentlemen of Horror!

August 6, 2009 - 7:22 pm 1 Comment

Well, three new poems are up at various sites around the internet:

  • New Bedlam, Autumn 1888, a creepy two POV piece is available as part of the New Bedlam Project, a great horror magazine which centers around the fictional city of New Bedlam. I contributed a bit of horrific history with this piece.
  • The Alligator Xylophone, a poem about my son and being a father, was very well received at Every Day Poets, a great site which features a new poem every day.
  • And last but not least is Flapjacks, a satirical shape-poem in which a wife apologizes to her husband about the night before over a nice breakfast. People just don’t write enough shape poems, in my humble opinion.

Writers of the Future, New Sales, and a New Story Up.

So…

  • I placed in top 5% in the Writers of the Future Contest with an honorable mention. I’m fairly happy with that, considering who the judges are. I think I’ll enter this one again.
  • Two new sales, Blinkensderfer #5 (AposioPieces, upcoming Summer 2009) & The Retrogressor (Illumen, upcoming Autumn 2010).

hugs and love,

A New Sale and Poetry

June 2, 2009 - 8:11 pm No Comments

Hi all,

My poem Family Jaunt is now available for viewing at Niteblade Online a fun Sci-Fi/Fantasy magazine which was kind enough to publish me before. If you like the work , please don’t hesitate to leave a comment with your thoughts.

Also, I just sold a good old fashion Monster Tale called The Greedy Blue to a good old fashion Monster Magazine called The Monsters Next Door. It’s a truly quality online ‘zine who has made Top Ten in the Best of the Predators and Editors Poll a number of times (which basically means it has a great reputation among writers, editors, and publishers of the genre and has secured their place in the world of legitimate online speculative fiction).

I’ll let you know when it hits the virtual shelves.

Voiceovers and Poetry

May 26, 2009 - 10:14 am 4 Comments

Just two quick notes:

* I recorded four different roles for The Colonial Radio Theater’s production of Zorro and the Pirate Raiders and Jarem Lee: Ghost Hunter which will be aired on Sirus and XM satellite radio. This is exciting news… I’ve always wanted to get into voice acting, and this is an auspicious beginning. The Colonial Radio Theater has the most popular show on the Book Channel (Sirius channel 117, and XM channel 163) with over 1.2 million listeners per episode. I had several quite large roles, and really got to stretch again as an actor. It was a blast. Hopefully there will be more to come… Expect them to air in October sometime… I’ll keep you posted.

* A new piece of poetry from yours truly is forthcoming at the website Every Day Poets, a cool website which posts a different poem by a different author everyday, and then opens discussions/comments about the work. The poem is call “Alligator Xylophone” and it’s about my son and myself. I’m kind of proud of this one. I’ll keep you posted…

One, a good, old-fashion Black Sheep sci-fi story called The Wavelength of Maybird will appear on August 16th over at The Absent Willow Review, and the other a short-short humorous piece called Seven and Four will appear at The Boston Literary Magazine this summer. I’ll keep you posted.

Number two thing–It looks as though my friend and fellow author Pete Tzinski is getting ready to premiere his WW2 serial story Rocket Johnny on May 1st. I think you’ll want to head on over and check it outIf I know Pete, It should be a great ride!
