Dracula’s Cape

February 5, 2009 - 11:59 am

Can you imagine owning Bela Lugosi’s Dracula cape?

How about Dracula’s ring or Calling card?

How does owning “Maria,” the robot from Metropolis sound?

A first edition Frankenstein, signed by Mary Shelly?

First edition Dracula, signed by Bram Stoker, Bela Lugosi, Christopher Lee, and more?

Alas, now you can.

Forry (Forest J.) Ackerman (1916-2008), was The God of All Fanboys ( in fact he was the man who coined the term Sci-fi) and the largest collector of horror/sci-fi movie memorabilia in the world. Sadly,  his estate is being sold at auction in April, presumably to pay medical bills. It is a shame-Forry was famous for giving tours of his amazing collection to anyone who happened to be in the neighborhood, and wanted to little cottage to stay the way it was after he died.

If I were a rich man…

This really is a heartbreaker. I would have loved to see his Ackermansion before he passed on.
